Digital Stage (2024)

A sectoral innovation project to imagine the future of digital performing arts in Canada.

Supported by the Canada Council for the Arts Strategic Innovation Fund and led by The Cultch, Digital Stage was a two-year pilot project envisioning an arts ecosystem where digital and live performances exist side by side — positioning digital performing arts not as a substitute for in-person experience, but as a distinct opportunity for artistic innovation and community engagement. The platform placed producing companies in direct relationship with national and international audiences, allowing people to discover work from companies outside their own regions.

Created in partnership by six theatre companies from coast to coast — Urban Ink, The Cultch, Neworld Theatre, Prairie Theatre Exchange, Theatre Passe Muraille, and Eastern Front Theatre — Digital Stage built points of connection and community around a curated selection of digital performances, working together to envision a future for digital performing arts in Canada.

As Digital Partnerships Producer, I led a season-long consultation and design process with the six national partner companies and contributed to the build and launch of the inaugural pilot website.
